OROQUIETA CITY, Misamis Occidental, Sep. 23 (PIA)--The newly reconstituted Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Misamis Occidental Human Resource Merit, Promotion and Selection Board headed by Provincial Director Pablio Benitez has started the deliberation of more than 400 qualified applicants for contact tracer through teleconferencing via Google Meet.

"The number of applications received by this level and the fact that we are still under temporary office lockdown enabled us to find ways in order to accommodate all qualified applicants," said Benitez.

The virtual interview is composed of four batches held September 19-22. As of this date, close to 300 applicants were already assessed and another round of panel interview is set for more than 150 applicants.

The hired contact tracers shall augment or form part of the existing Contract Tracing Team of a local government unit (LGU) who will provide the first point of contact of cases of COVID-19.

They shall conduct case interviews, profiling, perform an initial public health risk assessment of COVID-19 cases and their identified close contacts as well as engage in COVID related advocacy campaigns.

The hiring is an offshoot of the Bayanihan II Act signed by the President on September 11, 2020 which provides for a multibillion peso fund to strengthen the government's coronavirus pandemic response and recovery efforts. (DILG MisOcc/PIA Misamis Occidental)
