DSWD joins #ExplainExplainExplain campaign in CV

CEBU CITY, Jan. 22 (PIA) -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) joined the Presidential Communications Operations Office and the Philippine Information Agency in bringing the communication campaign of the Philippine National Vaccination Roadmap to Central Visayas.

Dubbed as "Explain, Explain, Explain: Pagduaw sa Cebu ug Mandaue, Siquijor, and Negros Oriental," the event was held in Cebu City and Mandaue City, Siquijor, and Negros Oriental on Jan. 19, 20, and 22, 2021, respectively.

The three-day event was done in the three island provinces in the region to relay the government's key initiatives to address and mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, including the national vaccination program which will be rolled out soon.

DSWD was represented by Social Marketing Service Director Irene Dumlao who presented the department's updates and accomplishments on Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, Sustainable Livelihood Program, Kalahi-CIDSS, Social Pension, Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation, Listahanan or the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction, and Disaster Response in Region 7 for Sustainable Development of Filipino Families.

Dumlao thanked their partners, including the national government agencies and the local government units, for their continued trust and support to the agency.

DSWD has reaped a 78 percent approval rating, the highest approval rating among the different government offices in the executive branch, during the latest survey of Pulse Asia Ulat ng Bayan Nationwide Survey conducted in November and December 2020.

Apart from PCOO, PIA, and DSWD, the Department of Health, Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas, and Department of Foreign Affairs also joined the activity to explain their campaigns and initiatives. (hfg/PIA7/with reports from DSWD-7)
