CALAMBA CITY, Laguna, May 6 (PIA) --The Department of Agriculture IV-CALABARZON (DA-4A) granted a total of P2.5M to a Quezon agricultural foundation to improve the marketing and trading of their produced crops.

DA-4A OIC-Regional Executive Director Vilma Dimaculangan initially turned over a check of P1.7-M to Sentrong Pamilihan ng Produktong Agrikultura sa Quezon Foundation, Inc. (SPPAQFI) on May 4, 2021 for the purchase of a truck van for the use of the foundation in the delivery of their produced vegetable crops from farm to market.

The remaining P800,000 of the total amount granted is set to be handed to the foundation for the purchase of a weighing scale, vacuum sealer, pallets and crates, and tent that will be used in participating in the KADIWA programs.

"Nagpapasalamat po kami sa DA-4A dahil napakalaking tulong po ng naibigay sa aming halaga. Mas marami pa pong matutulungang magsasaka dahil dito. Umasa po kayo na ima-maximize po namin ang paggamit sa halagang inyong naibigay," SPPAQFI Administrator Carlo Cena expressed his gratitude.

(We thank the DA-4A because of the big help of the amount granted to us. More farmers will benefit because of this. Rest assured that we will maximize the utilization of the fund you gave us.)

The P2.5-M was granted through the Enhanced KADIWA Inclusive Food Supply Chain Program with funding from the Bayanihan II Act. The program aims to ensure food availability and accessibility during the period of pandemic and beyond. (CPG, PIA-4A with report from Reina Beatriz P. Peralta, DA-4A RAFIS)
